About me

Gustavo Leindecker
Senior Front-end Engineer & UI/UX Designer
Porto Alegre, Brazil
I’m a front-end engineer and UI designer based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. I’ve spent more than 17 years building for the web, working on everything from customer-facing websites to complex enterprise applications. My work brings design and engineering together: how an interface looks and feels, how people move through it, and how the code supports it as the product grows.
I studied advertising at PUCRS before moving into development, and that design background still shapes my approach. I think about hierarchy, interaction and clarity alongside components and data flow. I want the interfaces I build to be easy to understand, accessible and fast, with code that other developers can comfortably work with.
Over the years, I’ve built customer portals, tools for complex planning workflows, and dashboards that help people make sense of large amounts of data. I’ve developed shared UI libraries, modernized existing applications, and helped teams make their interfaces more consistent. My work has also included leading a team and mentoring developers, with an emphasis on clear communication and engineering practices that people can understand and maintain.
These days, I work mainly with Vue, Nuxt and TypeScript, alongside React and Next.js. I work remotely with teams in the US and Europe and take on freelance projects that bring together front-end engineering and UX/UI design. I also build personal projects and open-source tools, including Shiver Text, a small text animation library. Away from the screen, my interests include tennis, travel, movies and rock ’n’ roll.
